Question by guinness4breakfast: Would you buy another triumph daytona 675?
I have really been looking at this bike and it seems to get a little better every year. Just wondering if people that own them would buy another one?

What do you like what don’t you like?
How long can you ride this bike before you need to take a break (the handle bars seem really low?)
I have also read the exhaust causes the seat to get extremely hot, is this a problem or an author just looking for a negative?

If you would buy something else what would you prefer?

Really just looking for some input from people that own this bike not what everyones favorite bike they want to stand behind is.

Altho I’ve never owned one I rode one for 1/2 a season and personally would not buy one.I found the seating position very harsh on long rides and not as responsive as I thought it should be.For my money the Ducati Monster is a far superior machine for about the same money.

Question by : Honda CBR600RR,Triumph Daytona 675 or Ducati ST3 ST Sport Touring?
I’m looking for the best handling,comfort and reliability between the three. I want better than average speed and a comfortable ride for a passenger,too,so feel free to recomend another sportbike,but those aren’t priority.Also,if you can get the same specs in a cheaper(or american-made) sportbike i’d appreciate it,for my grandpa’s sake.
That’s enough lecturing,I said “best” not “good”. Practical or not,I’d like the best I can get from a sportbike from each category.

its winter here and reguarly around 30 to 40 degrees f. my bike will only start if i put a space heater near the starter and warm up the crank case other wise it just clicks once and the electronic fuel injector resets and pumps another pump, its not like the starter is clicking like they do when the batery is dead. and its not even trying to turn over the engine it just clicks and resets and doesnt alow me to attempt to start again until some fan shuts of. i used to think it was because the batterys voltage was low so i bought a tricle charger and it seemed to help but still happened so i had the bat checked and it turned out to have one bad cell so i replaced it and thought my problems wer solved but now its happening more often. if i heat it up and start it and run it it starts again and again no problem but if left to long in the cold it has problems. also iv noticed that when it does attemp to start it needs the throttle pulled allitle bit even though its fuel injected wich is strange. and when it does attempt to start it seems to be taking longer than usual like the engne cranks over quite a few times before actualy fireing up? any one expirience the cold problem? is it just the cold or is it somthing bigger? thank you

Though Kali is associated with divinity, She has also been called ‘Queen of the Demons’ (and deservedly so). Her role could be compared to that of Persephone/Proserpine of the Greeks, who descends into the Underworld to rule there during half the seasonal and cosmologic cycle. Kali seems much more in control over Her destiny than the Greek goddess, however.

Let us begin, then, with this story to which I make mention (perhaps one of the first known concerning Kali):

The gods and the titans engaged in a great battle. There was one particular titan who was too powerful for the lesser gods to defeat. Durga, the Warrior/Mother goddess, was then called upon for aid. She arrived in splendour, riding a lion into battle, Her ten arms each bearing a magical weapon, Her ten faces each displaying a serene calm. She became the center of a cyclonic force of destruction.

Durga wounded the asura king (who was Her main opponent and the hub of his army). From his wounds the blood flowed to the ground, yet where each drop touched the soil a ‘clone’ of him appearred. The more quickly and fiercely She attacked, the faster his reproduction took place.

In the heat of Her frenzy, Durga called forth Her most powerful (and gruesome) aspect. From Her brow emanated Kali, the Destroyer. Kali was as black as the night, draped in a tiger’s skin, was wearing a necklace of skulls, a skirt of severed hands, and had a gaunt, ghoulish contenance. She was the very essence of wrath. With the fierce passion of a mad mother protecting Her children, She began to eat the asura army.

Kali’s intense hunger and lust for blood were the necessary elements for victory. She gobbled up the new forms of the asura king, slurped up the blood escaping from his wounds, finally devouring him whole. The army, defeated and demoralized, quickly dispersed and peace was again restored to the realm of the gods.

In many ways the asuras were the manifestation of malevolent masculine energies. They are most often depicted in male form and almost always as feral, animal-like beings. They are the brutish, coercive aspects of the Cosmos.

In this story Kali is a savioress despite the gruesomeness of Her appearance. She enters as the Queen of Battle in order to quench the demon-fire that ravages the heavens (and by fallout, our world). Her main strengths are Her passion and Her ability to take others into Herself: to consume. This is an important point. Kali is the powerful, hungry feminine. The consumption of the masculine is therefore necessary and transformative.

When a battle is forced (by asura-energies), it is our ability to take in, to absorb the very being of our adversary which makes real peace possible (preferrably by our understanding of their position and thus our ability to negotiate, rather than our ability to predict their behavior and react aggressively in response).

If and when consciousness devolves into combative conflict (as it has many times in the past and shall likely continue), then ‘consuming our adversary’, in the spirit of ‘knowing our enemy’, is the best method of successful resolution. Direct confrontation only breeds others in succession who will readily assume the role of adversarial leader in the event of a temporary triumph.

When ravaging masculine energies threaten the sacred, Kali comes to the fore here so as to quell the activity of that war, matching the wild masculine passion with Her feminine counterpart, and renewing a harmonized equilibrium.

Kali is the mask of Death, drinking the Elixir of Life (blood) and reconciling polar energies. She is the goddess of our time (in many Hindu cosmologies we currently live in the ‘Kali yuga’, or ‘Age of Kali’ — a time of disintegration and moral depravity).

I bought the bike yeterday started it at leasst ten times riding around and test riding, sstarted it one more time before bed to sshow my mother itss bad assnes. This mosrning I pull it out and click in the key and it does the little key on dance daytonas do and you hear the electronic fuel injection ingauge just like normal. Then I hold the clutch and hit the ignisstion and it tried to sstart, turned over a bit then did the key dance thing again so I figured it wass cold so I attemped again, almosts sstarted and shut off again and did the key dance again.. now every time I hit the ignition it goe *click* then the key dance resets and doess the same thing everytime. I’m verry ssure I didn’t leave any lights on. I hope it just needs a charge. The guy I bought it froms said he hasnt ridden it in a while. he had it on a trickle wqhen I bought it. Please help me out

Pull the battery out and run it over to the shop for a test. That’s probably all that’s wrong. When you do get it started make sure the charging system is putting out 13vdc or better and bobs yer uncle.

I was riding my bike and it just shut down. I was slowing down pulling up to a red light. It completely shut off. I turned the key into the off position. The tried to turn it back on (NOTHING). Turned the the engine cycle switch of and back on (NOTHING). I replaced all 6 normal fuses (NOTHING). Hooked the batter up to a booster. (SILL NOTHING). The needle is stuck on 3000 RPMs. Please help me I need advice.

Don’t know a bunch about Triumphs but most bikes today have a kill switch. Did yours go into the off position ?
