Question by guinness4breakfast: Would you buy another triumph daytona 675?
I have really been looking at this bike and it seems to get a little better every year. Just wondering if people that own them would buy another one?

What do you like what don’t you like?
How long can you ride this bike before you need to take a break (the handle bars seem really low?)
I have also read the exhaust causes the seat to get extremely hot, is this a problem or an author just looking for a negative?

If you would buy something else what would you prefer?

Really just looking for some input from people that own this bike not what everyones favorite bike they want to stand behind is.

Best answer:

Answer by Bob A
Altho I’ve never owned one I rode one for 1/2 a season and personally would not buy one.I found the seating position very harsh on long rides and not as responsive as I thought it should be.For my money the Ducati Monster is a far superior machine for about the same money.
PS I own a Ducati Paso SS

Question by candyman1378: Security deposit INDIANA help?
I am getting ready to vacate my 2br apt after 3yrs here. My landlord installed the real cheap menards carpet when I moved in (and I am not kidding it is that real cheap tan one they sell for dirt cheap).

When I moved in there was a broken window in my room that he promised to fix…took a year
The vertical blinds were missing 5 panels and the wand
I had to scrub the closet door in my room (looked like someone puked on it)
I had to install door stoppers as there were none.
My buzzer-entry system has been out for about 2-2.5 yrs and he says he cant find the parts for it anymore.
My toiled had a baby toy in it that he had to have a plumber remove (not from me though, from previous tenant)
The stove was not cleaned good and neither was the underneath (when I cleaned after moving in I found a picture of people I don’t know,
Refrigerator door had a huge bend in the metal bar thing.
Oh and EVERY summer I have no air at first. The guy who fixed it the last 2 yrs said there is a slow leak in the outside part (I believe it cause they always come out for 10 min and then they leave and he said he recharged it and it works good now)
The lease prohibits me from replacing furnace filters (he thinks I will break it…lol) and yet in 3 yrs he has only done it 2x (so I did it on my own instead of waiting).
The wiring is awful (every time I plug in the computer, vacuum, etc… the lights in my place flicker.
Last summer a neighbor kid threw a rock and cracked the outer pane of a double pane window. The landlord tried to get the money from the kid’s mom but it was not happening so he promised to pay for it….still broke.
These are just the main issues…there are more…lol
Ok so I know my carpet is ruined (stains from my kids juice) but with the 30cent carpet it cant be expected to live too much longer (if at all) than that. The paint he used was cheap flat white on everything, now there are spots that look odd cause I am always wiping them. No other damage at all.
Does this mean he can keep a lrage portion of the 750.00 I paid? I figure the paint is free since the lease provided a free repaint after 3 years. But how much can he really keep for the carpet?

I already read the security deposit law but I was hoping to get a general opinion….
thanks

Best answer:

Answer by reenzz
Regardless of your other issues, you can be held liable for the carpet since stains are not considered normal wear and tear. Since the carpet is so cheap…why not just replace it yourself?

Question by : Aprilia RS50 issue with HUD (electronics)?
I have an Aprilia RS50 motorbike.

On the HUD, the Neutral light does not appear when the bike is in Neutral. I have checked the bulb (it works fine – so nothing wrong with the bulb) and checked the light was in place correctly. However since I had a fiddle the Neutral light has became temperamental and occasionally now comes on, although when I go into 1st gear and back into Neutral it doesn’t come back on. It has only ever came on 3 times, but straight after it will not come on again. I believe it is due to the wiring, does anyone know how I can sort this?

Thankyou

Regards,
Thomas.

Best answer:

Answer by bikinkawboy
It could very well be the neutral switch on the tranny.

Question by : Aprilia rs125 wheel locked at 70mph, serious problems!?
I’ve got a 2001 (51) RS125, 28mm carb, power valve, standard exhaust and air box snorkel removed, unsure what jets are required for the mods power valve/ air box etc. Since I bought the bike around 3 weeks ago I’ve discovered that the bike has a 28mm carb and not the 34mm the seller claimed, its always been a bit boggy.

Last week: Adjusted oil pump down bit since was very smoky and plug very black.

Last night: Took the carb out, cleaned it, checked jets; 120 main, 62 Idle and choke 70. Put back on bike and it seemed less boggy after adjusting air/fuel mixture, however a crack has appeared in the fuel intake near the fuel filter, so petrol leaking out of carb now.

Today: At 70mph my back wheel locked up and got to 0mph in a matter of seconds, scary stuff. Emptied gearbox oil, not lots of it and very black, filled it right up with castrol.

The problems: The bike would just drop to 0 RPM when driving, barley starts, bad noises from top end and gearbox, won’t really do much and now in my garage in bits.

Anyone have any tips or checks, even better an explanation of what’s happened and what could of been damaged? Cheers, Ben
Tuono Cane; The RS125 is a single cylinder 2 stroke, the new 2011 model is a 4 stroke, I have the 2001 model.

Thanks for the replies so far

Best answer:

Answer by Tuono Cane
Looks like you should have checked the gearbox oil level and condition before you went riding, this could be the real reason it was boggy if the gearbox was getting hard to turn the engine will struggle. I bet either then engine is locked up or the gearbox is locked up (not good on any day) major repair or replacement of engine and gear box is going to be needed on this one.

I was thinking the RS125 was a two stroke and therefore engine and gear box would be separate, but the RS125 is a single cylinder 4stroke liquid cooled GP style bike my bad. Therefore Firestorm is right the engine and gearbox are in the same housing and use the same oil your in need of a new engine and gear box combo I seriously doubt your is worth saving! You should have checked the oil level before riding and the problem could have been prevented but it sounds like the damage may have started with the previous owner, so therefor you bought a junker and the guy new it, and sold the problem to you.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by : Honda CBR600RR,Triumph Daytona 675 or Ducati ST3 ST Sport Touring?
I’m looking for the best handling, comfort and reliability between the three. I want better than average speed and a comfortable ride for a passenger, too,so feel free to recomend another sportbike, but those aren’t priority. Also,if you can get the same specs in a cheaper(or american-made) sportbike i’d appreciate it,for my grandpa’s sake.
That’s enough lecturing,I said “best” not “good”. Practical or not,I’d like the best I can get from a sportbike from each category.

Best answer:

Answer by Eden
Sportbikes offer the most advanced motorcycle design technology available and are designed for optimum speed, acceleration, braking and maneuverability. They have a more aerodynamic design than other classes of bikes and are a thrill to ride for experienced motorcyclists, especially in high-performance situations such as a trackday down at your local racetrack. However, comfort and amenities usually suffer at an inverse proportion to how quick they are around a racetrack.
