Question by Plain Jim: Is 0 a month for a catastrophic HSA health insurance a good price?
I live in Indiana and I was quoted by Blue-Cross (Anthem) for $ 350 a month for a $ 10,000 deductible catastrophic health insurance.
I’m a 55 years old single non-smoker, non-obese, male who takes a blood pressure medicine and a cholesterol medicine only.
I already have $ 18,000 in previously established HSA.
Is that high or pretty good?

Could you compare it with Cigna or Aetna (if allowed in your state?).
Go on with your bad self and retire. Enjoy.
Make sure you can afford the $ 4,200 a year in premiums.
That’s 30 grand over 7 years.
And.. that the $ 10,000 deductible is always in savings/HSA.

Rates are different all over the country. It’s hard to say if it’s good or bad because we don’t know the rating in your specific area.
For a $ 10000 deductible, it seems high. I would think, you can pay an extra $ 200 and get something in the $ 4000 deductible range (and you would save a bunch of dough if you need it in the next 50 months)…
I would do more shopping if I was you.
Depends what it covers.
